Sheringham High School is part of the North Norfolk Academy Trust; a trust of four schools.
We are a popular school that caters for over 700 students from 11 to 18 who live in Sheringham, Holt and the surrounding villages. We occupy a wonderful campus set in its own spacious playing fields with views of the sea.
We have enjoyed consistent examination success for many years and provide a rich extra-curricular programme. The school has an excellent reputation in the core subjects, sport, music and theatre, and has strong links with local institutions and clubs. Ofsted has consistently recognised that our curriculum is designed with our students’ needs and the community in mind, and that our students are happy, well supported and make excellent progress, placing the school amongst the top 12% in the Country. Our Ebacc entry and success rate are among the highest in the County but our students can also follow qualifications in great vocational subjects such as Motor Mechanics, Child Development and Horticulture.
Visitors comment on the very positive relationships between staff and students, and recognise the focus on learning in a caring and supportive environment. We have a dedicated teaching staff of over sixty teachers, supported by an associate staff team of more than thirty. We benefit from the goodwill of many supportive parents, friends, industrial mentors, outside agencies and governors, and have forged close links in the community. Many give freely of their time and energy to help us to provide a quality service to our young people and we value these partnerships.
The School’s Library has been highly commended by Ofsted and it is at the heart of its ‘Reading School’ ethos; a place in which students’ love of reading is fostered through literary projects, Carnegie competitions and an author ‘in residence’.
