‘Join Our Team’
On Wednesday 4th April from 3.00 pm onward we will have an open recruitment day at the Lifeboat Station at the west end of Sheringham promenade and we are looking to add to our team of volunteers who serve Sheringham RNLI.
Volunteer roles within our team include Lifeboat crew, shore crew, Lifeboat shop volunteers and crucially education visits team members to help us inform the public of the work of the RNLI and to help in a myriad of other ways.
Our lifeboat men and women are all volunteers, they come from all walks of life, and they are prepared to help in a variety of ways. The occupation list of our station makes for fascinating reading because it demonstrates the diversity of people who are prepared to play their role to help reduce the loss of life at sea.
Today less than 10% of all new crew members come with a maritime background but we can train them all. Importantly for every crew member we need at least twice as many non-seagoing volunteers to help with the day to day management of Sheringham RNLI. All of our volunteers are dedicated to the job, and are very much team player’s. Their commitment isn’t only measured in the time spent involved in rescues, but in supporting the Sheringham Lifeboat Station in delivering a first class rescue service.
Come along on Wednesday 4th April, meet our volunteers and see for yourself if this is something you would like to be involved with.
