Poppy Line wins two awards
11 December 2009North Norfolk Railway, The Poppy Line, was a double winner at the National Railway Heritage Awards in London recently. These were for the Holt Station project for the erection of an ex Midland Railway signal box and was volunteer led. As a result the Poppy Line was awarded the Invensys Rail Signalling Award for the project as a whole, and the Volunteers Award for the work of the dedicated volunteers, who had undertaken te work involved. Work will soon be underway to reinstate a road crossing in Sheringham which will enable larger locomotives to run on the line.
