Sheringham Carnival
There as been a Carnival in Sheringham since the fifties, although for a very short period it fell by the wayside. The present Carnival was re-started twenty-five years ago, and has grown with each successive year, and now provides a week of fun and entertainment for all the family, due to the willing band of volunteers that organise it.
Unfortunately, health and safety and the need for insurance cover for various events, has seen the demise of the ever popular pram race through the town, the greasy pole, and several events which occurred on, or near the sea. As a result it has evolved into a family orientated Carnival with children in mind.
This year’s event runs from August 1st to 7th. Carnival Day is 4th but the Carnival procession takes place on Saturday 7th
