There has been a Carnival in Sheringham since the fifties, although for a very short period it fell by the wayside. The present Carnival was re-started twenty-five years ago, and has grown with each successive year, and now provides a week of fun and entertainment for all the family, due to the willing band of volunteers that organise it.
This year there were some new events including a fun packed children’s “Sleepytime Steam Train” ride to Holt, in addition to the ever popular street and duck races. And, with children in mind , sand castle building, tide fight and a treasure hunt are amongst other events planned. Back by popular request this year is the Torchlight Procession to watch the grand firework finale.
This year's event ran from August 3rd to August 11th 2013 with Raft Race day. Carnival procession took place on Wednesday August 7th. For all future details and photographs of previous carnivals, log onto the Carnival web site www.sheringhamcarnival.com
